La Valletla, the small capital of the Mediterranean island nation of Malta, is a walled city established in the 16th century by the Knights of St. John. É conhecida a ligação de Churchill a Malta, protectorado britânico à época, e ponto militar estratégico no Mediterrâneo durante a 2ª Guerra Mundial. São inúmeras as suas visitas à Ilha, e como tal, o seu busto encontra-se presente nos Upper Barrakka Gardens.
Churchill's connection to Malta, a British protectorate at the time and a strategic military point in the Mediterranean during World War II, is well known. His visits to the island were countless, and as such, his bust can be found at the Upper Barrakka Gardens.

Os restaurantes à tarde fecham cedo, cerca das 14h, pelo que neste dia acabámos por não almoçar e antecipamos o jantar. O japonês Aki foi uma óptima descoberta, atrevo-me a dizer dos melhores lugares onde já comi sushi.
The restaurants close early in the afternoon around 2pm, so on this day we ended up skipping lunch and having an early dinner. The Japanese AkiAki was a great find, I dare to say one of the best places where I've eaten sushi.

As lojas de uma maneira geral também fecham cedo e não abrem ao domingo e segunda, talvez o que mais estranhei num lugar tão turístico.
The stores in general also close early and don't open on Sundays and Mondays, which is perhaps the most strange thing about such a touristic place.

The Lower Barakka Gardens are twinned with the Upper Barakka Gardens and both have fantastic views of the Grand Harbour and the breakwater.
