O MET (The Metropolitan Museum of Art) proporciona uma experiência avassaladora de arte e cultura, tantos são os motivos de interesse e algumas das obras mais renomadas do mundo. The MET (The Metropolitan Museum of Art) provides an overwhelming experience of art and culture, with several motives of interest and some of the most renowned works of art in the world. Paul Gauguin, Auguste Rodin, Van Gogh, Edgar Degas, Pablo Picasso, among so many others, not forgetting the American artists such as Jackson Pollock and Andy Warhol. Undoubtedly something not to be missed in New York.

This painting was conceived during Gauguin's first prolonged stay in the Island of Tahiti, Bora Bora, were he spent his final days!

Quando andava no liceu forrava os cadernos com obras que de alguma forma me tocavam e, esta, era uma delas. Ver este quadro ao vivo é daquelas sensações indescritíveis, dada a sua incrível beleza! 

When I was in High School, I would wrap up my notebooks with paintings that somewhat touched me, and this was one of those. Seeing this painting in person is one of those unexplainable sensations, due to its unique beauty!

Degas é outro dos artistas que muito aprecio! Já tinha visto o quadro "Swaying Dancers" no Museu Thyssen Bornemisza em Madrid, que até hoje não esqueci, dada a sua beleza e detalhe, mas a quantidade de peças do seu acervo aqui é verdadeiramente surpreendente.

Degas is another one of the artists that I due appreciate a lot! I’ve had already seen the painting “Swaying Dancers” at the Thyssen Bornemisza Museum in Madrid, something I still treasure, given its beauty and detail, though the amount of works of art at the MET is truly surprising.

Pablo Picasso "Au Lapin Agile"

Picasso também está obviamente bem representado. Esta obra inclui um auto-retrato do artista vestido como um arlequim sentado no interior do Lapin Agile, um famoso clube de cabaré na área de Montmartre, em Paris, que o artista frequentava na sua juventude. A composição foi produzida durante o Período Rosa de Picasso.

Picasso is also very present in the Met’s portfolio. This piece includes a self-portrait of the artist sitting at the bar of the Lapin Agile, a famous cabaret club located in Montmartre, Paris, that he frequented in his youth. The composition was produced during Picasso's Rose Period.

Auguste Rodin é provavelmente um dos meus escultores preferidos, tendo já sido proclamado o progenitor da escultura moderna. Aqui encontramos algumas das suas obras mais importantes!

Auguste Rodin is probably one of my favorite sculptors, having already been claimed as the father of the modern sculpture. We can find here some of his most important works!
